STARRING

COLIN FIRTH, HELENA BONHAM-CARTER AND GEOFFREY RUSH

After the death of his father, King George V and the abdication of King Edward VIII, Bertie who has a debilitating speech impediment, is  crowned King George VI. With Britain on the brink of war and in desperate need of a leader, his wife, Elizabeth arranges for him to see an eccentric speech therapist, Lionel Logue.   The two start an unorthodox course of treatment and eventually form an unbreakable bond. Supported by Logue, his family, his government and Winston Churchill (Timothy Spall), the King overcomes his stammer and delivers a radio-address that unites and inspires the population.
